The U.S. Energy Department has concluded that the Covid pandemic most likely arose from a laboratory leak, according to a classified intelligence report recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress.
The shift by the Energy Department, which previously was undecided on how the virus emerged, is noted in an update to a 2021 document by Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines’s office.
The new report highlights how different parts of the intelligence community have arrived at disparate judgments about the pandemic’s origin. The Energy Department now joins the Federal Bureau of Investigation in saying the virus likely spread via a mishap at a Chinese laboratory. Four other agencies, along with a national intelligence panel, still judge that it was likely the result of a natural transmission, and two are undecided.
The Energy Department’s conclusion is the result […]
For any independent observer familiar with practices at biology labs in the US and elsewhere, the assumption that the pandemic started with a lab leak was the position that had to be rebutted once it became clear that the Wuhan laboratory was the world leader in bat virus studies. The conspiracy was in the cover-up, which persists to this day. The more we know about the SARS2 viruses, the more obvious it is that the poor animals at the Wuhan wet market — the favoured source of the plague among conspiracists — caught the highly contagious virus from humans. In three years of searching, nothing has exonerated the Wuhan lab as the likely epicenter of the pandemic.
When you factor in research funding by the Chinese military, US DOD & NIH, the reason why no one has taken responsibility for the lab leak is also obvious. None of these organizations has a history of transparency.
That there was a lab leak is important because governments are racing to fund the same type of research that resulted in the pandemic at even more locations — if an uninformed public and politicians allow it.
Obama imposed a moratorium on this dangerous research when he was president (some reckless and sloppy research was funded anyway) and it should be noted that the pandemic started within months of the Trump administration’s lifting of this most sensible regulation.
I’ve always maintained that. Chinese officials wouldn’t have gone to such an extent to hide the fact that people were dropping dead in droves if it occured naturally…
Thanks for the info. I would have to open a paid subscription to the Journal to finish reading it. Will google to find more info from another source. It makes sense that it came from a lab.
I had already discerned that the Lab hypothesis was the best one and I knew it was a government cover-up from the beginning.
