I got an email this morningfrom a retired two star Navy admiral, I have known since he as a Commander and I was Special Assistant to two CNOs. He told me that he thinks Trump is behind what Tuberville is doing, and he is trying punish the seniors military for not backing his attempt to overthrow democracy with his insurrection. Further, the admiral said Tuberville’s stupidity is doing serious damage to the senior leadership of all the services. Then, this evening, I saw this piece written by Sidney Blumenthal saying much the same thing. To be honest I knew that Tuberville is generally considered the stupidest man in Congress, which is saying a lot if one considers some of the members. But I had not thought he was acting as Trump’s tool. On balance I think the admiral and Blumenthal may be right.

Tommy Tuberville plays the fool with such conviction that he makes it difficult to imagine a motive behind his idiocy. He is really, truly, actually not acting.
