Democrats are the party of working people. Ahead of the 2020 election, we advanced ideas and plans that we believed would, in ways big and small, make our democracy and our economy work better for all Americans. Across this country, voters agreed with us — and gave us a majority in Washington so that we could deliver on those promises.

“Democrats are the party of working people.” I had a chuckle with the first line of the article. Maybe adding “was”, “used to be”, “should be” to the article would make it more accurate. They have not been the party of working people since before Bill Clinton was elected. Starting an opinion piece such as this with a blatant falsehood loses credibility. Even if it was conceded that Warren is correct, recall that Barrack Obama worked hard behind the scenes to subvert the candidacy of both Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders. That’s who the democrats really are now.If Joe Biden can, with the stroke of a pen, eliminate student loans he should have already done so. Not a word regarding the democrats, especially in the Senate, who have stopped the President’s agenda. Elizabeth Warren may attempt to maintain the fiction she is peddling but when it confronts hard reality, reality always wins.
