Stephan: Everything I see on television and read from the 80 0r so sources I monitor each day suggests to me that nothing of much consequence pertaining to climate change remediation is going to be done in the United States during the Trump Administration. Republican Representative Lamar Smith who is -- astonishingly -- the Chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space & Technology, is a well-known ignorant stooge supported by carbon interests. If your information sources are Breitbart, Daily Caller, Fox News, and a host of other alt-right websites and channels you don't live in a fact based world, and Smith signals his bias and ignorance by sending out something he found in Breitbart. All of this climate change denial nonsense signals that in the critical next four years the ground work for massive social disruption and failure will be laid.
I advise all my readers to avail themselves of the several websites put up by universities and other science based institutions to see what is likely to happen in your region, and to plan accordingly. For sea rise you might take a look at
Surging Seas Risk Zone Map, although there are a number of others. If you live in the the Southwest and central states you should look at drought projections. Within 15 years in both coastal and drought regions, in my view, property owners will suffer massive loss of value, and a huge multi-trillion dollar real estate bubble will burst. You can already see it starting in parts of Florida and the Carolinas.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders mocked the U.S. House Committee on Science, Space & Technology for tweeting a Breitbart article suggesting that global temperatures were in a “plunge” — despite scientific consensus saying the opposite.
On Thursday, the official Twitter account of the Republican-led committee sent out a link to the right-wing media outlet in a tweet that read, “Global temperatures plungy. Icy silence from climate alarmists.”
